Default Towing Mirror Question ??

I tow a lot and I hate the factory mirrors that came on my truck.

I'm going to order these mirrors from ebay.... Not a bad price! IMO!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-03-FORD-F...-/300585496874

The mirrors has LED turn signals... My truck has power mirrors, But ''not wired'' for turn signals.

Does anyone know the best way to wire them up so the turn signals will work ??

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I didn't know this until I was looking for it, but my '01 had the turn signal wire pre-run into the mirror plug in the door. I believe it was a pink wire on the drivers side and maybe red on the passenger side. I don't remember 100% on the colors, but they should be there. It'll be whatever color wire doesn't match up with the wires coming out.

Glad I could help!

I was dreading having to run a wire to somewhere for my signals, but I was super happy to find out that those wires were there.

The base of the mirror is different for the supercrew. If you look at the doors on the supercrew, there is a thick black rubber strip that runs along the bottom of the window. The non-supercrew's don't have this.

There was a guy on one of the F-150 forums that bought them and put them on a supercrew. I believe the bolt holes are the same, they just don't look great because of the shorter base.

I have Expedition mirror on my truck. Not as nice as tow mirrors, but much better then the stock mirrors!

Sorry I can't help you!... I really don't understand why the ''Super Crews'' are different from the ''Super Cabs'' and ''Regular Cabs.''

Here's another place I found mirrors.. I never searched for mirrors for a Super Crew, So you might want to try here. Nextag Tow Mirrors

Click on a set in the link that you like, and then maybe contact them to see if they have a set for Super Crews... You may have to ''trim a little'' like XC_Racer_129 did, But the main thing is to make sure that the bolt holes are the same.

Yeah, I was dreading to have to run wires too!.. That's why I started this thread to ask!...I just hope its the same on my Super Cab!

My Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust kit is suppose to be here tomorrow... I have to take my old dual exhaust off too, and then install the new exhaust... After I get that done, Then I'll start in on the mirrors when I get time!

Thanks!

Thanks for the answer! Those look good on there, do you have any other pics from the other direction on either side? Also, from what I could tell some newer model Expy's look like the same mirror, did you explore which years from the Expy would work on our Screws?

There you go! These bolt directly on, I just had to do slight trimming to make things perfect or my OCD would have kicked in haha. I bought aftermarket mirrors, so OEM may fit even better. However, the wiring is completely different, but I might be able to help you with that if you do decide to do this.

I believe that the base and bolt pattern from '99 to current expeditions are the same, so any should work. Do some research on that before you take my word, but I remember seeing a guy do the same modification with 2010 mirrors on his screw.

Ok, thanks. I was actually hoping for a pic from a little further away to see the overall truck with the expy mirrors but it's no biggie, I just want to see behind me better and I do pull an 6x8 trailer sometimes, those should do it.
