I took apart the mirrors a little to see where some wires went, but I didn't want to break a brand new mirror. It could also be that the same harness is used for both sides, so multiple wires run to the same option and you use the correct one depending upon color/side.
I pulled up a connector diagram on my Ford Service Manual DVD (Best $10 I ever spent on eBay!). The extra wires are for sensors used by the memory power mirror control to determine where to move the mirror for whichever key fob unlocked the door.

One thing I will note is that my mirror controls are backwards, ie up is down, left is right, and vice versa. There may be a way around this? I'm not an electrician haha. Hopefully the wire colors are the same for all these trucks!

Mirror Wire Color ----> Truck Wire Color

Drivers Side:

Motor Controls:
Red ----> Red
Blue ----> Blue
Tie together the yellow w/ blue stripe and yellow w/ red stripe ----> yellow

Turn Signal:
Green w/ white stripe ----> Pink

Puddle Lights: I ran a wire from the mirrors and tied into the wires that go to the lights in the doors.
Black ----> Black
Black w/ brown stripe ----> Black w/ blue stripe

Passenger Side:

Motor Controls:
Blue ----> Violet
Red ----> Green
Yellow/ blue stripe and yellow w/ red stripe ----> Yellow

Turn Signal:
Green w/ white stripe ----> Red

Puddle Lights:
Black ----> Black
Black w/ brown stripe ----> Black w/ blue stripe.

I installed my '04 Expy mirrors this weekend. I found a fix for the backwards mirror controls!! Try wiring them this way:

Mirror Wire Color ----> Truck Wire Color

Drivers Side:
Motor Controls:

Yellow w/ Red stripe ----> Red
Yellow w/ Blue stripe ----> Blue
Tie together the blue and the red ----> yellow

Passenger Side:
Motor Controls:

Yellow w/ Blue stripe ----> Violet
Yellow w/ Red stripe ----> Green
Tie together the blue and the red ----> Yellow

Wiring them this way made mine work perfectly. No backwards or upside down stuff. All other connections are the same as above. Thanks goes to XC_Racer_129 for laying the groundwork!

Pictures will follow in a new thread once I finish putting the dash back together. (I tackled replacing a blend door. Arggh!!)

I'm glad you got those mirrors on! I'm sure you'll be much happier. If I ever get motivation, maybe I'll rewire mine so the controls are the same way. I actually want to cut out some of those wires that are not used to make it a little cleaner, so that will be a good time to switch the connections.

Default Thoughts?

I know, I know, beating a dead horse. You say you put on 04 Expedition mirrors. Do you think these would fit a 2002 F150 super crew? It says they fit 03-10 expedition.

Extremely old thread but to answer the question yes those will bolt up and connect to the connector correctly for your truck.

XC you are the man, I picked my Expy mirrors up today. Got them super cheap but one has a hole in the plastic so got a buddy gonna do some fiberglass work for me. Need to research how to wire the heat to a switch and tie the puddles into the door lights. You ever get your heat wired? Just curious.

I did eventually wire the heat to a rocker switch on the dash. I was going to do a timer, but I figured a switch worked just the same as long as I remembered to turn them off.

It's been a while since I did it and I don't have the truck anymore, so I don't remember which wires I used. The left side mirror seemed to work well, but the right side mirror didn't. I don't know if I pulled the wrong wire for that or if the cheap cool-vue heaters weren't powerful enough. I was going to fix the issue but didn't get around to doing it before I sold the truck.

Did you get OEM mirrors? From what I gathered, those seem easier to work with.
