AK: You've probably forgotten more than I know about these trucks and mechanicals in general. Keep spreadin'' the wisdom!

Maybe we should all pitch in, and get Red a set of these seat covers!

..
Ha! I'd chip in for those seat covers if he'd rock them lol

Sorry I have nothing to offer on the seatbelts

I don't think I've ever had a Ford V8 that didn't need base to be at 10-12 BTDC. Are there any that weren't?

Not that I can remember. 6 and 8 in some emission cars, but always BTDC.

Yeah that's knowledge I now have in my memory bank lol. Cant remember where I even read that, it was over a year ago... should've done some refresher research before I went thru this again but lessons were learned and the truck is running so I can't complain too much.

Glad you got it up and running 2100. Don't forget to use the right carb port for your vacuum advance. One is direct vacuum and the other is variable on that carb. That can also cause a backfire in certain conditions.

The Stang is 10 BTDC base, but I run it at 13 BTDC. It is very happy there.

So, this crap happened yesterday..... Salt Lake is getting rough lately. I don't know if it made national news or not?
