Those things are crazy priced on eBay. Anywhere's from 60 to 130. That is the back only. The bezel is another 50 or so. How expensive are they at the pull part places White? Did you ever look for that item for me?

Well, I got the dash situated today, but decided after it was together, to change the color to the old dark smoke for the radio surround set up. The picture shows how they broke the old one, and the next pic shows the cluster back together. After looking, I decided I wasn't happy with the colors. I went down tonight and got a Satin smoked grey, and will put that on tomorrow. I have it down to less than 15 minutes to remove the backing section now. I would do well on a flat rate scale, lol.

Hey Bear. Things (weather) has been good the past 4 days. We are supposed to be fair weather for the whole week, so I need to take lil Red on a road trip to the Valley (50 miles) and back to see if all the fuel will clean up, and how it runs at 70. At 55 it was fine, but had a misfire, but since I've run cleaner through the injectors, it is so much smoother now. Now that it has sat for 2 days with the cleaner doing it's job, it seemed quite a bit smoother yesterday. I hate the chemicals used in Unleaded. It leaves a bluish tint over everything, when you pull and look at it. Winter blend is coming next couple weeks, so there will be more of the bluing. I use Sta-bil for all my small engines. I can usually pull the cord no more than twice and they fire up in the spring after a long winter, so I'm happy with those results.

I'm going to repull that upper dash and do a paint adjustment today, so that it matches better to my combination. I even put in my spare Sony Xplode into the dash. I'm glad I always save my old take out parts. They come in damn handy sometimes. lol

Have a great day guys.

I have a Gates pressure tester for the cooling systems, and put it on the truck last night, set at 15#. I went out this morning, and it was still almost the full 15# holding. I consider the 37 degrees last night, and to only lose less than 1/3#, I'd call the system tight and still viable. I've personally, never seen a local Gen 10 truck with a heater core problem. I know that this is common in hot country, but with our up and down temperatures, it seems we (AK), don't run into this as much as the continental US does. I had to call for a new front license plate mount this morning, and asked my buddy, how many heater cores the dealership has replaced on Gen 10's. He's been there since 1988, and he said 1. It was an Arizona truck, and the core was shot. Other than that, they haven't seen much that way either. It has to be where and the temperatures that make this such a common problem for some.

The antifreeze is still set to 35 below and is bright and clean. Luckily the original owner owned a Texaco Service Station. He did a lot to keep the truck solid. It was the second owner who had it broken into, and was more of a cowboy (sorry cowboys). I'm hoping that my care will keep it in a good working condition, and next year do a repaint to make it more aesthetically clean. It's getting there. lol

So why would location make such a difference?- i was under the impression water circulated through the heater core at all times- and the dampers controlled what air went where ( hey that rhymed!)
