Something tells me that Brew has his hands full of the Doctor, and she wants him to fix her honey-do list. He has the truck, the RV, the place, all to fix during this summer. The problem with the current system here, is a good reason to go fix your stuff. lol. So is the Doc. LOL
You know him, he's addicted to these sites as bad as we are. He'll be checking in occasionally you can be sure, unless he goes hermit on us.
I found my draw yesterday in Red. The right door lock actuator was sticking on for one thing. The big thing was that the shifter wasn't going fully into park, keeping the signal open, drawing about 150ma. I reset the wheel and the sensor, now it starts in park and they draw is down to 37ma. I hooked back up the door actuator and rechecked the draw. Over 150ma. I took the panel where the lock **** slides thru and honed it a bit, Now the rod goes up and down freely and does not rattle.
Lastly, I took out my stethoscope, that I finally could get to, and went listening to Red's engine. Sure enough, the right chain is hammering on the cover. It about blew out my ear drum when I used the probe without the metal end. The noise radiated to the rear of the motor even. I started going forward and when I got to the cover, it was obvious where it was coming from. Luckily I have the kit, so now it's 10 hours of time (over a few days of course). While I'm there I'm going to throw in the OPump and new water pump and alternator. I have all these so, I'll just replace them while I'm there, along with the upper and lower hoses. Might as well do this just one time. I might just throw in the electric fan kit while I'm in there, depending on what I find. Memorial day weekend might be a good time to do this. Hmm

You know.... I really, really want to use this weekend to start my 5 lug swap. I hear you, just want to get the stuff done and taken care of (this is another reason I am thinking I'll cut the box on the F150).

After reading Brews post over, i think you guys are right- he has been kinda frustrated over some of the posts/posters,the way the site has been acting up, and there is the added issues with the camper, land, truck repairs, etc.
He’ll take a sabattical from us for a while, get things coming around his way, then, he’ll be back with stories to share.
AK, does the chain slap sound like a lifter clicking?- Blue has a clicking that sounds like its down under the intake/ valley cover.- not bad, and it doesnt affect the idle or running, its faint, but its there. ( but there really isnt anything under there, is there?)
White, i believe i would plan some family time on the long weekend- perfect time to work on the ‘stang, but ill bet momma has plans brewing too!

Bear.....exactly, but sometimes a lot louder, the colder the engine. Once warm, you hardly hear it. I made sure I tried checking in both scenarios. Mine is definitely a chain or guide that is slapping the cover. It is so evident with the stethoscope. No more wondering where that noise is coming from. lol

I went and picked up my 225/45-17's on Saturday!
That's funny White. I was just out changing my tires on my Mustang yesterday. 245/45/19's are what I'm running. I had 2 new and 2 of my take offs, but when they got to the last tire (my used one), they found 2 knife holes in the sidewall. Not good. I tried to get some mates off Amazon, but they aren't shipping them to my area anymore. That Sucks. I tried 3 tires shops around me and the cheapest was 204 each, installed. So I went out on Craigs list and found 2 used Pirelli's, with 8.32 tread, so I grabbed them The price was cheap enough. This morning, the guy who had 2 new Kuhmo's called and said I could have the pair for 90. That is half of what it would of cost across town. Yeah, at 1 pm I'm grabbing those. Oh well, at least I have 3 235/19's and 4 225/19's to sell now. LOL Just what I needed, more crap to store away. LOL. Time for a big garage sale.
The 225's are on the wheels, and the 245's are sitting in the background. The Evo's coming off only have about 5500 miles on them. I wanted bigger, ore meaty tires.
I personally guarantee that I will replace these tires because they've cracked before wearing them out. The tries on it now probably have 90-95% tread still. The sidewalls are cracked to hell though, and they shake now. That kind of triggered this whole 5 lug/bigger brakes/front suspension makeover.
Well, I did make out like a bandit on those tires today. 2 brand new Hankooks, 245.45.19's and I got both, new with the shipping tags still on them for 90 for the pair. Stroke............
Nice job AK! You made out like a bandit! I did pretty good on there too. I paid right around 220 for them but still need to get them mounted, and I'll add road hazard too, They are 225/45 ZR16's. Here's a pic of they old tires. As you can see, they are toast... but in the top pic, you can still see the ink in between the treads. Not many miles on them at all!
