Yea was tired and forgot to type the line about the piston.
The good thing is it is still a 350, the replacement piston says standard.
I am going to tear apart the bottom end and weigh that rod and piston combo compared to the other ones.
Can't decide to run it and see what happens or start machining the block for a 383 stroker build.
I also thought about swapping out all the pistons for flat tops to bump the compression a little.

I'll know more and decide when I get it all apart.

I'm always amazed at how incredibly strong a gas spring is when you try to move it with your hands, and how weak it is once anything but your hands is involved.

As a minimum, I'd measure piston to cylinder, then see if I could hone and do new rings, being uber mindful to match rings to cylinders for best end-gap balance. Valves, another matter to handle... But IF rings, then valves, whether new, recut & freshened seats, or merely hand lapped.

Sum8itc4, Ohio. We just had another bout with snow last week.

It was pretty nice here today though. I took Frankie for a Sunday drive through SLC with the Wife.

It needs gears. That's gotta be on the "to do" list soon.

Like a hatch/hood strut, you mean? Yes.... and I'm also amazed at how one of those bastards (brand new) can't keep the hatch up.

Yes, those.

EDIT: these make compressing them effortless.
