Pick up truck are not work vehicles anymore. They're mall-crawlers; minivans for people who refuse to buy the minivans they need.

MiniVans perform a function. So do pickups. I like maxivans, but they're' hard to get in a 4x4, in my budget category. I liked how the top and back of a 60's IH Scout unbolted. Carry cargo or a fridge. I miss going from driving to the rear without exiting and reentering. My SCab is a compromise.

Chrome = sissy... got it.

I guess the bumpers on my 97 are sissy as they are decorated with shiny chrome when simple grey paint would have been sufficient. Got it.
I've only owned one non sissy vehicle my whole life. It was a 76 Honda Civic. No chrome, manual trans, hell, they didn't even paint the entire thing.

I have to know, I don't want to be like the guys in those pictures.

Yeah.. but those? Might as well build a deck around it. They also trap water. These aren't so bad. Light and less bulky, been around for quite awhile now. Easy to maintain and keep clean.
