Got down to the animal hospital today and talked with the critical care doctor. If we had taken Mika home with us, they gave her about 3 weeks. Her red blood cell count is very low, and they thought she would need a transfusion if it dropped any lower, They recommended 2 more days in critical care, and we agreed. If they can continue to get the kidneys to improve the 3 weeks could be months. The Doctor said she has seen 4 dogs recover from something like this and they were large younger dogs. So, there is a glimmer of hope.
Tonight at 9 pm I got a call that they were doing the transfusion. Pic of her getting the transfusion.
I can't decide if that is a good thing or not. It continued dropping = bad. But the new blood will help her heal faster and better. Kidneys filter the blood, and they aren't working very well.
my cat earned her keep this morning as far as im concerned. She has a bunch of those toy mice she likes to play with, i see her batting one in the kitchen this morning, i get a closer look, holy crap its not a toy mouse, its a real one
My Sister's cat leaves her dead mice and dead snakes by the door step all the time. From what we've been told, the cat thinks they are giving you a gift when they do that.
Years ago, one of our cats caught a live mouse in the house *with no claws*! He later snagged a hummingbird that flew in while I was changing the feeders. I saved that one from his cla... paws. It was shaken up and breathing like a little freight train, but flew off after I held it a few minutes. (Those things feel like you're holding air.)

I don't know that I've ever seen a hummingbird that was not actually flying. I'll have to look at the googleator for a pic.
My oldest friend that I have.... not by age, but the fact we've been friends since we were about 4 years old... called me last night. He's got an Excursion with a V10 that he's bringing over tonight. It's got a miss on cylinder 3 under a load. It's funny because he told me he's been reading and saw that modular motors don't like anything but MC plugs and MC or Denso coils. I told him that I'd bet he ran across me then, lol.
Anyway, I've got a MC coil we're going to put on it. He's tried a new plug, swapped an injector, and put an aftermarket coil on it (didn't know the MC thing at the time), and it stays on cylinder 3 all the time. He's also got 150psi compression, so I'm wondering if he has an issue with the wiring. He said someone in a forum told him the PCM, but I don't see that being an "under load" only issue. I'll put my new scan tool on 'er too, and see what's up.
