I haven't been on much this week due to a very strong bout of Flu. I finally ate something today after 4 days of nothing. It wasn't a fun time that's for sure. That and it's been below zero for over a week. Not a good way to start 2020. Just think, this has to go somewhere and the Continental US is in for some nasty *** weather soon. Anyways, maybe I'm back now, lol

I have a request for this thread please. No firearms. I lost a friend late last year to gun violence and hate seeing anything posted pushing pistols. It's just my thing. I hope you guys can understand and take them to a different post or not at all. I'd certainly appreciate your understanding, Thank you.

Didn't know you were down, AK, but glad you're on the mend. Hopefully that's the worst of it.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I've deleted my posts.

I hope I didn't upset or offend anyone over the gun.. If I did, I'm sorry. It's become personal to me since December. Without the gun he'd still be here. He could handle anyone physically, but a 9mm does short work when it hits a vital organ.

Yeah AK there forecasting your weather to hit NW Washington starting tomorrow with highs in the 20's thru next week
and a chance of snow every day. If we get 4" of snow here they'll shut down the schools, lol.
Word has it your having the coldest winter in 50 years. Hope you hydrate, stay warm & stay safe.

Snoqualime is closed by the info my cousin just sent me. She lives in Ellenberg.

As far as coldest in 50 years, not even close. Fairbanks has been around -35 the past week to 2. A few years back, that would of been summer weather.
There is a picture at UAF showing -66. In January 1979, I was starting work for the GM dealer and Feb 1 it was -28. It never went above -23 for the freaking month. I had a new 78 F250 and it was the only rig that constantly started at the end of the shift. I jumped a chitload of Chevy's that month. That is the coldest one I remember. Here were only around -10 or around there.

As of now the mountains here are getting dumped on. They're measuring by feet instead of inches. I have to hand it to DOT for keeping the
passes open. Might be closing the pass for avalanche control considering the base all this snow is sitting on & the fact that students are
trying to get back to WSU for spring quarter and 3/4 of 'em aren't prepared for that kind of weather.
KOMO, KING, KCPQ touted the "coldest in 50 year" thing with highs -25. Yeah I thought I'd take that with a grain of salt.

I didn't do it lol. Yea it was 54 early Sat morn, 3-5" rain, flooding everywhere. Was below freezing by afternoon with freezing rain that hasn't quite yet. We'll be @ 21* F in just a few hours. There's 1/4-1/2 of ice covering everything currently. Stayed home for the weekend. This is the first time the garage door froze to the ground lol.

I couldn't imagine -66 AK. Most likley screwed without a block heater. Do you have a heater connects on the trucks?

Yes to the block heaters on all rigs. This is the first year we've needed them in a while. Red got a new one with the engine, but found out today, the cord is shot. They didn't swap to the new cord, so it goes back in Monday to get swapped out. Sort of pissed me off, but Red still started. Just a bad inconvenience when you are not feeling well. I actually can't remember the last time I had to use one. Hmm. It's been years.
