Default Subwoofer question.

So i have a 1999 f150, 5.4 XLT extended cab. I really want to put subs under the back seat. Probably two downfiring 10”. But i have no clue what box to use, and i know ill probably have to shim the seat. And i also have the seat with the support in the middle of it. So can anyone tell me what theyve done in the past, with pictures? And if you know where i can find a good box please let me know! I want to do this right the first time.

Here's a dual box if you want it. READ THEIR FINE PRINT. They have two versions, one for the seats that fold forward (yours) and the later 99s that folded up. Choose correctly!

Here's a single if you want it. It's what I have in my truck right now. I however asked them to flip the construction so I could put it under the passenger side since I use my driver side too much. One 10" is plenty for my truck. I wasn't looking to blow my windows out. But it's very much personal preference.

okay, i really appreciate this info, but wouldnt there be an issue with that double box due to the seat style i have? The forward folding seats have a support where the rear bench splits (so wouldnt i need a cutout in the box?). and would it be worth swapping my rear seat for the later folding back model? i know a guy who has a ford junkyard...?

It's just a picture of it... like I said there are two versions and if you read their find print it explains it. They know there are two different styles. If you're really not trusting their paragraph explaining to make sure you pick the right seat, you can give them a call and explain your concerns. I'm sure they'd be glad to help you out.

Also on an unrelated to sub note... yes I'd swap it out, I hate those older style seats. They are worthless folded down. The fold up are better. Again tho that's technically a moot point for someone getting a double box. I use my driver side with the seat up a ton.

Thanks for the info on that site, i'll probably buy from there.
So i can get a rear seat from my guy for $75, but he said if i go over and remove it myself he'll only charge $50, are the two seat styles exactly interchangeable? Id rather have that style then shim/raise the seat.

Hopefully some of the other forum regulars see this. I'm not sure on if it's a direct swap or not. I don't want to give you bad info. Worst case, measure your mounting spots on your truck, and measure on the new truck before you waste time tearing it out. You might still waste a trip over but you won't waste the time pulling it out and it not fitting lol.

My Buddy has a 2011 F150 with a single down firing 15. It sounds pretty good. It's even a junk speaker (Pyle).
