The 97/98's have an extra special back seat. I wonder if I can swap one of the 99+ seats in there?

I had to raise the seats 1.25" just to fit the box under there. I had the box laser cut at work..... in case you're wondering, LOL.

I think that's who made the box in my Mustang. It has been a great box. I have an MA Audio 10" DVC in it, powered by an Orion 500.1 Cobalt amp, and the thing THUMPS.

I would go with the previously mentioned Pioneer over that Fosgate. I've marked some key numbers in subwoofer selection. If you only listen to rock, the RF is an OK sub. If you like low bass, then the Pioneer drops 25 hz. lower. I usually set my crossover at 68 hz, so for me, that RF only has a range of 45-68 hz. I'd rather go with a wider range at 20-68hz. The Pioneer has a better sensitivity, AND, it is over an inch less mounting depth.
  • Pioneer 10-Inch 1200W Max Single 4-Ohm Shallow Mount Series Subwoofer
  • Mica-injected resin cone
  • Power range: 100-300 watts RMS (1,200 watts peak power)
  • Frequency response: 20-125 Hz
  • Mounting depth: 3-1/8"
  • Sealed box volume: 0.35-0.7 cubic feet
  • Ported box volume: 0.5-0.7 cubic feet
  • Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms
  • Sensitivity: 91 dB

  • Rockford Fosgate R2D4-10
  • Power handling (max): 500 watts
  • Power handling (RMS): 250 watts
  • Frequency Response: 45-250 Hz
  • Mounting Depth of 4.319”
  • 12 gauge compression terminals
  • Integrated PVC trim ring
  • Liner spider with embedded 16 gauge tinsel leads
  • Anodized aluminum voice coil former
  • StampCast basket with integrated spider venting
  • Mica injected polypropylene cone
  • Optimized for sealed and vented enclosures
  • CEA 2031 Compliant
  • Nominal impedance: Dual 4 ohm
  • Voice coil diameter: 2 inches

okay, i agree that the pioneer ia a better deal and sub, but ive heard bad things about shallow mounts never adding up to what a full sub can do...or is this one worth it? Im open to any subs you think are great as long it doesnt exceed $75 per sub

How deep is the enclosure you've decided on? That plays a huge factor in your purchase. Shallows are not as good, I agree.

Im currently limited to 4.5" mounting depth, thats why i chose the RF's, they were a full size sub yet still shallow enough to fit...but im open to ALL ideas

On a side note, I appreciate the patience and helpfulness of everyone on this thread, Especially FordGuy and Whitegt...this is my first time doing audio and i wanna do it right and be happy with it!

These subs are bad azz. My Buddy with the 15 owns a DJ business, and he has 4 of these (but 15's) in a cabinet. They move A LOT. They only claim they go down to 30 hz, but man are they bad azz.
