Default Sound system setup

I have a 2000 F-150 extremely base truck (EX work truck for Georgia power, so I have absolutely no additions, and I have manual windows LOL) 4.2L V6 with only 2 speakers in the doors. The head unit has been replaced by a JCV Arsenal KD-AHD69, with a 20 RMS x4 preamp (whatever that means) and I just bought some JBL 6”x8” to replace the front door speakers and now looking to mount the old front door ones into the rear suicide door. If I splice the wire then it will cut the power in half to my fronts but I won’t have any rear, I’m not sure where to go from here. Any help would be great

Do you have existing speaker wire harness in rear door?

You dont splice your wires, typically. You plug in a wire harness. Your stereo has 4 channel outputs. Use them.

If you don't have wires to your rear doors you have to run them all the way from the head unit. Wires run under the door sill plate.

I do not have the existing wording harness in the rear door. I have looked up the wiring schematics and I do have rear speaker wires but I am not sure where they go, because they simply do not go to the rear door and they go deep into the dash where I can’t chase them, would it be best to splice the rear speaker wires as they come out of the head unit?

if you have rear speaker wires the other end should be on a plug behind the stereo. same plug the front is plugged in to.

but if didnt have rear speakers, might not have any wires.

yes the same plug that goes into the stereo, I have looked at the schematics for that and I do have rear speaker wires on it. But I’m not sure where they go but I am sure they are rear speaker wires.

The wires run in the door sill. Note wire colors on plug, find them there under driver door sill plate, trace back. Its not rocket science. Colors change with time . What might say red/black on schematic may look like pink-purple/brown 20 yrs later.

The grey connector in the middle of the photo, you may not be able to make out the wire colors but they look to be red and blue not violet/grey speaker wires. Sorry for the bad picture, I had to take it between a trim piece that I don’t know how to get off so.

I have done that and it does not come out under the drivers side door still plate, it has a wire but it comes out from under the seat and goes back to a small connector in the corner of the cab, the wires look to be red and blue, the connector is empty and has nothing running to it or no other wires running that way. The picture shows it better. I will also attach a picture of the wire and the absent ness from the door sill plate

So if you found end of the wires, hook em up.

I don’t gave the connectors for the OEM speaker, is there somewhere I can buy aftermarket or what? I may have to salvage off a donor

Google ford speaker connector

I would just solder wires to the speaker terminals, cut plugs off, and use wire nuts personally
