Corruption is part of the job, anytime there is an assumed authority, it can and will be abused by humans with emotions.
You are one out of almost a million police officers in the USA, there is no reason to make this personal like you have done.
You don't represent all the hundreds of thousands of cops, nor do the bad ones represent you. You are individuals, just like every other career on earth.
It's not personal. You bashed the entire profession. Corruption is everywhere, it just happens to be advertised more for law enforcement.

Aside from the first part being extremely vague (would chrome door handles or aftermarket windshield wipers be a reason to pull someone over..?), what in the world does the second part even mean ?
Are you implying automakers produce vehicles that are "illegal" from the factory ?

I hate people that bash cops for doing their job. Mad disrespect.

.

Second part means bald tires, bad exhaust, burned out bulbs etc!! First part means, if the mod or accessories deviate beyond the ranges of your state vehicle code than it's illegal. Driving is a privilege not a right.

If you look back you'd see its quite the opposite.. but that might be inconvenient towards your bias stance.

The old "just doing their job" doesn't fly with anyone who has a brain. They selectively choose when and where to enforce laws, who to enforce them on and which ones to enforce.
Any other questions? Bit tweaked in the head? I guess you had a bad run in with a cop huh?

Corruption is everywhere. I think cops get exploited since they are what keep the public safe. I had bad run ins with cops profiling me when I was younger for loud exhaust and tinted windows. He ended up being put under investigation for harassing teens. There are good cops and bad cops. In every profession there are people who are corrupt but since they work in a private sector no one will ever hear about it. I have been pulled over countless times by state troopers searching my vehicles for drugs and alchohal with I don't do either but there reasoning for pulling me over was missing mud flaps not having head lights on at dusk or swerving down the road. City cops have only pulled me over when I have been speeding or in the wrong. I do respect the police where I live even though I don't agree with them all the time. I do think most police are good cops it's just the few corrupt ones that give the rest a bad name. Just like anything anyone does in life. It only takes one bad person to screw it up for everyone.

My dad was a police chief for 30 years. I have had more tickets than everyone in here probably. There are corrupt cops out there but, there is corruption in ever profession you only realize it when it deals with you. If you do the crime..pay the fine. A law is a law.
