Default P1260 code, multiple issues

Soooo...

Hopped in my truck this morning and the heater/blower was stuck on without the key being in the ignition, I hadnt touched it since last night but for some reason the blower motor inside the cab was stuck on. Drove the truck to work, shut the engine off but the heater stayed on. Didnt have time to deal with it so I turned the heater to the off position, it shut off and I went about my day. After work I go to unlock my truck and the battery is completely dead.(Note the truck has had the heater stick on once before but never drained my battery). Had a guy give me a jump, turned the truck over for about 5 seconds before it started, then it died right away. Tried turning it over again for 10 seconds at a time and it wasnt firing. Waited a few minutes and it fired up and ran perfect...?

Got the truck home and hooked up my progammer. Its giving me a P1260 code reading "Theft Detected, Vehicle Immobilized". The PATS Transiever was replaced on this less than 2 years ago. And whats more confusing is the truck starts up and runs fine while throwing the P1260 code.

Any ideas on what this issue could be? And is there any corralation to the heater staying on and the theft code that its throwing? I wouldnt think its the blower motors resistor, I was thinking something in the ignition/security causing both issues.

Thanks in advance everyone.

-Derek

Yes I was ...I have also recently took off the steering column shroud and I know the PATS Transciever is located right behind there, but I didnt bump anything while removing it or reinstalling it.

I'm guessing a leaking windshield seal, causing a short.

No known leaks on the truck, Ill keep an eye out. Might try disconnecting the battery for a while and see if that clears the code. Ive had problems with the PATS a while back and its very annoying.

I was reading that SCT dealers can send tunes that disable the PATS system, if it is indeed another PATS problem im gonna read more into that.

Been researching, this seems to be a somewhat common problem with our trucks. Windshield leaks and the fuse box and GEM module get wet, it did rain ALOT yesterday...

That's why I asked.

If you get bored, take the gem out and see if it's starting to corrode at all, or if it looks like it's been wet. It's not the easiest to remove but then you would know for sure.

Ill take a look tomorrow, its behind the fuses under the hood right, drivers side? Something is definitely getting wet, now when I turn the headlights on the heater comes on, without the key in ignition...

Gem is behind the fuse box under the steering column. You'll be laying on the floor mat to get it out.
