Thanks, oh I know and up until a week ago I would of told you the 6.0 was a tool lol.

So how far will 5 grand get you on your build, you going to run all over that ?

I seen they have donation cups and bell kits for standing in front of supermarkets, tried to raise funds that way yet? Make up a sign that says "hardwork/NA". I heard the trick is to wear the same close you did the last time servicing your rear gear and steel toe boots with the leather missing on the toes. So you not only look pretty, but you'll stink so bad your supporters won't look twice and what they're throwing in the kitty.

Just wondered how your doing with the build this far.

Lol right now it's still all planning. I want to get a solid plan together that way if i do the transmission first I can get the right stall. Only part I have ordered is rod bearings lol. Im hoping 5k can get me a short block with forged rods and pistons, and some decent heads. MHS heads and cams still look like the best bang for the buck, 1800 fully assembled, valve job and bowl ported. And they degree the cams too. My goal isnt crazy, just 450 crank hp after boost, but it won't be boosted for a few years. If I could make 330 crank hp NA I'd be pretty happy, maybe I can pull 400 ft lbs out of it NA? It's not going to be a crazy NA build tho. Stock CR, LTs, PnP 99 intake 24lb injectors, and just bowl ported heads with probably MHS supercharger stage one cams, maybe stage 2. BrowningSCrew brought up an interesting topic yesterday tho, you can get a low mile coyote for ~2300, wiring for 1600, and trans controller for a couple hundred, intake and exhaust for a grand, and have it all bolt up. So I may look into that, but I feel like since it hasn't been done yet on a tenth gen there is probably good reason.

If I remember right, 99% sure, Neal (the HP Freak) with Fox lake heads made 360 at the wheels NA. Now that's what he said. Back then the heads alone were 5K (that may have been Canadian). IF he reached 360, I don't see why you couldn't. Unless Candian HP isn't quite the same as American (like currency lol) your goal seems modest... obtainable anyway. Neals truck was a 99 short bed 2WD, so the helped getting the power to the ground as well.

Yeah those fox lake heads are nice, he had stage 2 or 3 port if I remember correctly, the ones Im looking at are like stage 0.5 lol. I think stage 2s run about 3100 with everything now. I just can't justify spending that much for my goals.

It's pretty amazing what they can do with a set a heads. I've heard of guys getting 500 at the crank from a set with supporting mods. But you need some deep pockets lol.

For sure lol. I think with a set of those trick flow heads and a 10.8:1 CR and the right cam 400 hp NA might be obtainable. Problem is the heads outflow the intake manifold lol. Honestly I really wouldn't want much more than 450 or 500 at the crank after boost. Even that's pushing it. I feel likely that much power and the way this truck handles wouldn't end well. I think just shifting at 6k would really pick up some time as long as the engine can still breath. I'm trying to get the right cam so I can do that. Shifting a 6k on the 1-2 would put the beginning of 2nd gear more in the power band.

Iduno, Personally I'd be content just under 400 hp. Plus there's the cost difference between that and around 500 hp. It's like double and you'll be breakin shiii, probably be swapping blowers to achieve what you want lol. It can be a money pit which CAN get old. A conservative build is more appealing IMO personally. Most likley last longer...I know your brake pads will lol.

Whenever my truck comes time to need a new motor I'm strongly considering going coyote swap if the funds allow it. Trans controller for the e4od, stock coyote motor with a nice exhaust and figure something out for the intake, and obviously the wiring harness to run the motor.

I don't think it'll be too difficult of a task getting everything to work correctly with the gem being pre-PATS, it looks like everything should play nice together when all is hooked up. Don't know what I'll do for gauges though, probably go standalone, like autometer or similar. But I'm not for sure on that yet.

Yeah I doubt I'll touch 500, probably 450. Just enough to be fun to drive. I really don't want to run more than 10 or 12 pounds at most

Seems like more of a pain than what it's worth. It's going to get expensive quick too

12 pounds of boost on a stock 5.4 will give around 450 hp with a good tune. No heads or cams
