But I went with lentech since they specialize in racing / heavy duty 4r70w's and AOD's. So far customer service has been awesome, and they have delivered on evrey promise so far. I've heard great things about their transmissions and build quality. Mine is coming all the way from canada
What was the price on the Lentech trans you ordered?

When I get a toy I'm doing all the work myself, but for the daily I do what I think I can do easily. Most of the repairs I've done myself or had help doing
Not even getting it beefed up ??

I've never done one, but just grabbing the bull by the horns again. Took that approach with the s/c swap and i did ok

lol F'n expensive. I won't post figures on here, but I got a stall with mine too. If you must, lookup the price on the lentech website. Got the street terminator 4r70w.

Don't have a tranny jack. But i have a huge 3 ton jack, hopefully that will work.
Trust me when I tell you this. Beg borrow or steal a tranny jack before jumping on this. That B is gonna roll off the smaller head of a floor jack. Having a large flat surface with support fingers makes a world of difference.

Overall, not a difficult job. Remove the driveshaft. Disconnect starter, shifting linkages, elec connections, and cooler lines. Support the tranny with the jack and remove cross member. Remove TC bolts through inspection plate. (Rotate engine with a socket on the crank to get in correct position & use an appropriate sized pry bar to wedge in the flexplate to hold still) Get some long extensions and a swivel & remove bell housing bolts. And TADA! Just a lil wiggling and she'll slide right out.

BTW, I looked up the lentech tranny & good choice. I know about what you spent on that sucker and if you can't mosey on down to harbor freight & get a tranny jack for $150, well, that's just a damn shame! LOL

Yeah i got one just down the road. Harbor freight jacks scare the **** outta me. I may feel safer with my quality floorjack lol. But ill check them out. You think they will jack up high enough. My truck is a little higher than stock.

It'll be fine. I have one that's worked perfectly for years. As far as the height, you can use a large block of wood, 6x6 or so, between the jack and tranny if need be. I had 33's & bars cranked with 2" blocks in the rear when I did mine and had plenty of jack. Now I have 6"s, 37's & pretty sure I'd have to use a block.

Yeah man. If you have any questions while doing it, pm me and I'll send you my #. Easier to explain on a call rather than typing on my pos phone.
