Engine Builders talk.
Never heard of them, but it definitely takes some time to build a good transmission. Hopefully you get a thread going on the install. I'll probably have a few questions for ya. Have you dropped the trans before? I think I'm going to do it in my driveway lol.
But I went with lentech since they specialize in racing / heavy duty 4r70w's and AOD's. So far customer service has been awesome, and they have delivered on evrey promise so far. I've heard great things about their transmissions and build quality. Mine is coming all the way from canada

I don't have a place to do the trans,I'm only getting charged $350 to swap them and I get to keep the old trans so I figured I'd let a pro do it. My truck is my daily driver,so I want it right lol. When I get a toy I'm doing all the work myself, but for the daily I do what I think I can do easily. Most of the repairs I've done myself or had help doing
??I've never done one, but just grabbing the bull by the horns again. Took that approach with the s/c swap and i did ok
Overall, not a difficult job. Remove the driveshaft. Disconnect starter, shifting linkages, elec connections, and cooler lines. Support the tranny with the jack and remove cross member. Remove TC bolts through inspection plate. (Rotate engine with a socket on the crank to get in correct position & use an appropriate sized pry bar to wedge in the flexplate to hold still) Get some long extensions and a swivel & remove bell housing bolts. And TADA! Just a lil wiggling and she'll slide right out.
BTW, I looked up the lentech tranny & good choice. I know about what you spent on that sucker and if you can't mosey on down to harbor freight & get a tranny jack for $150, well, that's just a damn shame! LOL
Yeah i got one just down the road. Harbor freight jacks scare the **** outta me. I may feel safer with my quality floorjack lol. But ill check them out. You think they will jack up high enough. My truck is a little higher than stock.
It'll be fine. I have one that's worked perfectly for years. As far as the height, you can use a large block of wood, 6x6 or so, between the jack and tranny if need be. I had 33's & bars cranked with 2" blocks in the rear when I did mine and had plenty of jack. Now I have 6"s, 37's & pretty sure I'd have to use a block.
