That sounds like a really good setup and actually a good price for the quality.
The monsterbox SuperStreet I was planning on is rated at 600/550, $1650, but only 6500lbs towing...not gonna work
I expect a detailed review from you lol

Dropped mine in the driveway in -10 degrees. Not too bad. I have a thread on it.

Some ratchet straps, and a jack = your fine

LOL. You've got a thread on everything. Don't get me wrong, very educational & helpful & appreciated. But I could imagine sitting in your Cal 2 class listening to a lecture about air density & the effects of chamber size on it.

I'm sure the tow limit is underestimated because if they didn't you have some idiot crying because his trans went out hauling 14000lbs. I'm just saying, I'm sure your 8k load will be fine. Plus they prob don't want to exceed the trucks factory rating.

haha I make sure to beat the snot outta it evrey once and a while. Probably why the other one broke. IBD - Great suggestion on the ratchet straps. I think that might help me from saving 150$ on a trans jack.

I really didn't even use a jack. Some good 3-400lbs straps, an extra hand, and a jack make short work of it.

Yes, I agree a transmission jack with a flat base is much easier. However, I find them much more effective when moving the tranny into place, rather than removal. Just makes sure you have some sealant to replace the transfercase to tranny gasket. They are nearly impossible to find.

The hardest part is reaching bolts on the top of the engine mount(easy to do when the intake is off), and one of the starter bolts.

A good set of open end 10-19 mm wrenches are a must. You can use a small 1/4" ratchet on the torque convert to flex plate nuts, but you can only loosen then a little bit. You wont be able to loosen them completely with a ratchet unless you drop the engine oil pan. Thus using an open end wrench and a friend to hold the balancer makes things much easier.

Ratchet wrenches come in handy also. And the extensions & swivel can get you to the top bell housing bolts.
