That's a good give away, - depending upon the hardware of course. Is it a good one? Seen some pretty slick set-ups put together with Jeggs fittings. The factory set-ups last forever tho. At-least mine has, haven't lost an O-ring yet , knock on wood.

Its got a little red bird on it I think. Can't remember what brand that is. If somebody wants it let me know it won't cost much.

Someone should grab it, those almost make changing oil pleasurable lol. Had an 01 without one for awhile, absolutly hated doing filter changes. The 98 came with a remote...what a difference.

I didn't have a clue what everyone was talking about with the filter being in a bad spot until I went to get under a stock f150 to change oil,now I get it lol. Its easy with a good size lift, gives you a lot more room to get around under the truck.

I was referred here from another member, maybe you guys can give me some input.

Even though I have an 11 second F150, I just can't keep my work 98' stock. I have already put an 03 5.4 engine in and I'm ready to go further. So here's my plan:

Headers. Long tubes are a must, needs to fit my 4wd, hoping to find a cheap set that includes the Y-pipe.

Magnaflow muffler on stock piping. She's built for torque so I do not need huge piping.

Intake. It needs to be a closed design, I found one from volant. Or should I just modify the stock intake? I know the stock filter housing necks down to a very small size.

Most importantly, a tune. I have a spare sct tuner I'd like to use, who do you guys recommend for tuning it? MPT?

I left the 4.6 higher stall converter in it and love it.

I appreciate and help/comments even criticism.

P.S. I also have an oil filter relocation kit I would be willing to part with.

Serious question. You have an 11 second F150 and you're asking us for advice? Lol.

Ok. I'll try.

Why would you want to run stock exhaust piping with headers & MagnaFlow? If your doing headers go ahead and redo the entire system. Otherwise it's a waste. Get rid of the Y and run either an x pipe and 2 SISO's or run both sides into a DIDO. You can run 2.5" without affecting your torque.

Search for the GOTTS mod in the 97-03 (this) section and save your money. Your not going to see much power from an intake.

I currently have a MPT tune and I am satisfied with it. Although I'll be going with Woodbine Performance for my next tune which brings me to my final point. If you want to make any real power out of these trucks you have to go boosted. Yeah, you can throw money at ridiculous little odds & ends like throttle body spacers, intakes & other shiny sales add BS, but your wasting your time & finances thinking you'll have anything more than a glorified sled puller. Go find yourself a Lightning setup & do her up right. Just my advice. Hope it helps.

Damn skippy. It's time to build something! Instead of just talking about building that chevy race truck, blown e85 97, & now another Mustang, get on something! LOL. If you really want to get your hands dirty come on up next month and give me a hand with my gears. Free home cooked meals, beer, & your own personal bottle of Fireball are all I'm promising.
