Good luck. For that you may be able to pick up a balanced and bored 4v 5.4 and get some head work and cams. And range around 350 iirc

What do you guys think about the weekend of October 10th for the meet? I'm flexible & open to suggestions.

Not with those powdered metal rods. You'll be pushing their limits at 450. Next you'll have a custom vented block. To get that kind of power you're looking closer to $65-7500 with you doing a majority of the work.

Can I swap out the 2v heads on the 4.6 to a 3v or possibly 4v setup?

Best bang for the buck would be a 5.4 with a Lightning charger. I have seen complete Lightning motors for under 3k. A few other misc parts & a tune and you could easily do 400+. Don't want to push it much beyond that though. They have the same type rods as your 4.6.

What Charlie said. Dont forget a trans that can handle the extra power.

Holy crap Charlie ur right found a couple on eBay ranging from 2,500 to 4,000k. What changing would have to be made to run a 5.4 in a 4.6 truck obviously is need a trans rebuild but what about
Computer, wiring harness etcetera

You can use your ecu, harness and everything. You'll need to get a flash tuner & custom tunes such as a SCT X4 for it to work. Then youll need a heat exchanger, intercooler pump, a few hoses and an intake. What trans do you have?

Edit. Almost forgot. Throttle cable and cruise control cable also. If it is a complete engine you should have everything else.
