I've been watching a few Lightning vids on YouTube and I can't wait to hear that wine under the hood. There's definitely an audible difference between a stock pulley & a 4-6#. Zing zing brother!

What difference do the different pulleys make in sound? Just higher pitch and louder faster with the 4-6#? Or what?

Yeah. Larger pulleys spin the blower faster making the whine much louder. Also gives you more boost.

There are guys running 10# lowers with 2.73" uppers seeing close to 21#s of boost (allegedly). Don't know how long that would last. But that bad boy is definitely spinning!

I found a totalled lightning at one of the local yards. Looks like it was t-boned by a semi around the rear wheel on the drivers side. I'm seriously thinking about pulling the whole blower assembly, fuel pump, and all the other crap I need to do the same swap. How much do yall think it will run me at the yard?

If you put a bigger pulley on the bottom the outside of the pulley is turning faster to keep up with the pivot(crankshaft).

A larger pulley on the blower makes it slower.

Same concept as a 21 speed bike or any pulley system for that matter.

Hell, offer him a grand and see what he says! LOL. It's a lowball, but it will give you an idea of what he thinks it's worth.

Stock on a L is 2.93. HD is 3" I think. 2.73 is smaller & moe speed.
