Looking at an 04 f150 and I have read the dreaded stories of the phaser gears etc. Question is can the vct be turned off in the tune to allow the 5.4 2V to be swapped in the 3V place? Or is there much more to the electronics? Yes for a lightning blower swap. Tried to research but not finding much.

Edit: or is it easier to swap a coyote?

Completely different PCM and harness. But the best thing to do would be to swap in a harness an PCM from a E-van. They still had 2v, but were on the CANBUS setup.

so in theory then get the e van harness and lightning swap would be easier right. The engine harness and body harness or just the engine harness. Did the e van have the drive by wire too?

If it was a 4.6 you would have a super easy swap.
