I've got a 99 f150 turn dial 4wheel drive. When I go to shift into 4x4 sometimes it doesn't engage but the light still comes on. Then when I try to turn it back to 2wheel the light stays on and will stay on until after I kill the engine for about 30min. If I take the vacuum lines off the 2 solenoids and plug them back in it will start to work most of the time. Any suggestions on what it is? My guess is either the switch its self or the actuator. The solenoids still have good vacuum to them so I don't think they are bad.

Ive got a 2002fx4 manual t-case that just does what it wants in regards to 4 wheel drive. At the moment I get no lights at all. But the truck goes into 4low for sure. But I'm pretty sure it's not going into 4high at all

I had the same problem I wouldn't go into 4x4 when I wanted and tried to on it's own on the highway. Change the switch on the front of the t-case its a 3wire connector on the front of the case by the front driveshaft if I remember correctly. Solved my problem

Sounds like the auto locking hubs have some issues. Im debating on switching to manual locking, less electronics to go wrong. Any suggestions?
