Have a buddy that works here and says that this is a great truck. He said it could use a little buff to get a few surface scratches out. The shop spent $500 on stuff. Said suspension, brakes, and tires are in good shape. No shimmy/shakes, no wind noise or squeks. Said he could go to $18000 but not to much haggle room after that...although he doesn't get to sell many ford trucks since its a gmc dealer so that could play into my advantage. Also it is a 06 with under 100K miles...so it might be less prone to the cam phaser issue

KBB is $18K for it with trade in $13K
Lots of $$$ for a vehicle with soo many miles. I paid $21K for my '08 scab, (at a Ford dealer) even though it is an stx. 12000 miles when I bought it. too much $$$ for soo many miles. Make sure the truck you buy has good rubber too. $$$ for tires.

Yeah if they need new tires I want at least $1000 off the price to buy some. I understand that its a lot of money, but its also the supercrew and both the upper "trims" Also both have the 5.4, not the 4.6

That is what I thought, but wasn't 100% positive on it. Thank you for clearing it up for me

I understand your points about trim and engine. I had negotiated $23K for ''07's at two different dealers, both with <23,000 mi. Well to each their own, my stx is not the stripped down model. Just basically the engine size and carpeting. Good luck. Like my dad always said about cars, they make them every day. Wait and the right one will come along. Again, good luck!

Thank you. Yeah I know, it just seems like since it is about "winter" time the price of 4x4 has jumped. The XL and XLT is the same price as a fx4 or lariat just about here.
I know that the MTS place goes to texas to buy trucks, so I would hope I could talk them down some. Seems like texas is the place to buy good cheaper trucks

Well test drove the tanish looking one from MTS. Beautiful truck and everything worked great. Tires on the back are almost bald, front bumper is dented. Test drove it and low and behold it has the great cam phaser problem.
Brought it back and told the salesmen. Said he had a guy that said it was ticking...so they replaced the injector. Did the same thing again so a guy said it was the cam sensor so they replaced that. Told him it was the cam phasers and that it only does it when it warms up. The sales guy literally told me "wow I'm glad someone knows what it is so we can tell everyone else." Said they would take $14000 if I fixed it myself and $14500 if they fix "it" I said you mean both and he just looked at me dumbly. Asked about the tires and all the other "little" things and he said he wasn't going to run back and forth to haggle pricing. They aren't like other dealers that try to rip you off. Also said they went to texas and picked it up....for I'm guessing around $10K if that.
I said thanks and I'll talk to the owner monday about it.
