Default Poor acceleration

My 05 FX4 seems to be bogging down when I accelerate hard from a stop. I understand these trucks aren't the fastest off the line and I don't smash the pedal every time I take off, but from time to time it bogs down and shakes like I'm getting a misfire. One time, my CEL came on and started blinking but went away as soon as I let off. I ran the OBD and no codes came up so I don't have too much to go off of. I have the notorious Ford rough idle but other than that, the truck runs great.

Before I start dumping money into plug, injectors, filters, etc., I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what they did to fix it. Thanks in advance for any advice. Also, I did search this issue but was unable to find this specific problem.

Have you checked you air filter or changed you fuel filter? does it only do it off the line or when ever you floor it?

Changed air filter about a month ago. It accelerates fine if I get into it gradually. It's really only doing it off the line.

Maybe it's time for a new exhaust setup... Thanks for the tip. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks.

It does, but my only concern is that my problem is intermittent. Sometimes it accelerates fine, then other times it misses and is slow to take off. I'll try replacing the cats with hi flow and see if that takes care of the problem. Like I said before, I've been looking for an excuse for an exhaust upgrade.

MIne was too. When it was cold, it ran great, but as soon as operating temps hit, it would do it on and off. Eventually, it started running crappy all the time.
