Not enough details were posted....how many miles are on the engine? What has been done as far as periodic maintenance (I.E. have the plugs, plug wires, COP's, fuel filter been changed already)?

I found this with search, this was originally posted in JAN' 10. I hope the guy is still around or remembers what he did to fix it...

I had a similar problem and I ended needing new plugs and COPs.

My truck is having some similar issues. I am taking it in soon to get the spark plugs changed and hopefully that'll fix the issue. I bought it used and it has 170 k on the engine, 2004 f-150 lariat. Nice looking truck but just feels like i'm driving a tank when i get it up to 60 mph or so. Has a hard time gaining speed. I put in a new air filter, found it had a leak in the transfer case and had all that fixed, but it still is sluggish.
I'm hoping the spark plug change out will be an easy fix, but who knows with those plugs.
