Default HID Issue

I am having issues installing HID's into my new headlights. I bought projectors online, and I love them. I was looking for a little more light so I purchased a DDMTuning 55W 8000K system. H1 bulb size as my headlights say they use. The problem was when I installed them, they were dimmer than the original and the light looked much more scattered and focused in one area more than another. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

I recall the answer on these ebay projectors are crap, and I remember you being advised against a plug and play hid kit...

I would verify the bulb is sealed in the housing correctly(seated flat). You also need to understand how a HID bulb emits light is different than a halogen bulb. Also, higher color temp bulbs are also going to have a lot less usable light. Personally, i wold not go over or recommend more than 6k. Low quality bulbs and low quality components will not help either.

I don't ever remember asking about plug and play HID kits, but maybe I did. I'm sorry I didn't feel like spending $500 plus on headlights and many hours of work to get FX-R's and HIDs. Just wondering if anyone else ran into the same issue.

Just as reference, the "eBay" headlights that I didn't buy on ebay since I don't buy anything on eBay, are leaps and bounds better than my stock headlights that were faded and yellow.

Mine do not have quite that sharp of a cutoff line. Very close though.

Indeed. Sometimes I feel like the f150 has become the new honda civic, too many teeny boppers getting their hands on it and think that "mods" are tacky peal and stick crap, loud exhaust, and ****ty headlights.

Man this forum has gone to ****. To the op, it is probably a bulb seating issue. Make sure that the bulb is all the way compressed into the housing. How with projectors you will have that "focused" look because that's just how they work. Takes some time to get used to.
