Try setting it on something that won't damage the bulb outside of the headlight and turn it on. If its still dim then you've got a faulty bulb or ballast

There definitely are. Everyone instantly assumes your HIDs are gonna blind everyone. I aimed mine down some and went with the 35W to avoid blinding people. Regardless it's not illegal to have really bright lights on the vehicle that I know of. I know in Texas you're allowed I believe 6 lights turned on at any given time on the road. If I wanted I could throw 6000K 55W HIDs in the heads and fogs with 2 super bright LED bars and still be legal.

1) There's a subforum in the aftermarket section dedicated specifically to HIDs and aftermarket lighting. Don't want to hear from the "HID police"? Post there.

2) The narcissism amazes me. "I like them, so I don't care". Well, when you blind someone with your illegal lighting and they hit a pedestrian because of the glare from your lights, I hope you're happy. Unfortunately, you'll just keep driving and won't have to explain it to anyone.

You just proved our point. The OP didn't ask for opinions on legality , or personal preference of HID lighting. If a mod would like to move this thread to the appropriate section that's fine but the above comment is downright rude and unnecessary. This is a forum to help each other, not talk down to people or belittle their tastes. It would be great if everyone kept that in mind before posting. We are a community trying to help each other and share ideas. Think we can all agree its best if we are all respectful to each other.

Also, as mentioned if properly aimed the light doesn't blind anyone as has been tested by countless people. Retrofit is the best way and the output is superior to hid in stock housings. However , HID, when properly aimed will not blind oncoming traffic nor people in front of you, but light output is less than stock style bulbs. It comes down to personal taste.

Belittling @!)(*#&) TASTE?

Really?

Pointing out the fact that PnP HID kits are illegal, blinding to some people and unsafe is belittling someone's taste?

Point about narcissism proven. Thanks for that.

[sarcasm]My sincere apologies for hurting your feelings. [/sarcasm]

Tell that to the NHTSA and the DOT. They're illegal.

You looked up any laws lately? If that was true cops would be pulling people over all the time for their headlights. Mine are putting out about as much light as the bright sylvannia bulbs people like to run for brighter output in stock housings

Type another comment similar to that and I think you'll find your posts removed. Its inappropriate and against the forum rules. Just drop it, as this is not the place for the type of comments you continue to post

When the mods feel the need to say something they do.

You're not one.

Suggestion?

Have an issue, talk to a mod. Stop trying to be one, you're not helping anyone.
