While on the topic has anyone ever used or installed the headliner type gun racks in a 04 to 08? I have considered them but I cant find any good info on how they mount or how trust worthy they are.

somebody's making high quality T-shirts with built in holsters. I have two; they'll comfortably hold up to a 7" blackhawk, or the Colt 22 target with the bull barrel - at the same time, for that matter (balances better). any gun store should have them.
and, they absolutely do not print, so there's no need to leave the pistols in the truck.
on the rare occasion when i just want to, i just lay them in the bottom of the console.

tbear is right, just wear it. In the event you go somewhere you cannot carry, I have found in my SCREW that under the rear seat, behind where the jack goes makes a decent hideout. You would have to know it is there to find it.

Zip-tied a larger nylon holster underneath the front seat using the support wires. The full size slips in, the smaller CCW slips in inside it's holster and stays as well.

In Atlanta, GA there is not a day goes by that a truck or car doesn't get broken into and having guns (and other stuff) stolen.
I try to *never* leave anything visible in the car or truck. The crackheads will break into your car to steal an umbrella!
Frankly, I would not leave my guns in my truck even if they are hidden. The criminals know all the places ppl hide their stuff.... If I need to carry, I'll get a concealed carry permit and carry that puppy with me at all times.

obviously you have never even looked into getting a CHL becuase you cant CARRY THAT PUPPY WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. even if you have a CHL, what if you need to go into the bank? your going to carry it in there? School Property? Post Office? No matter what your pistol will have to be left in the truck at some point.

^ Thank you!

As if I will take it to class with me, or live somewhere vehicles are broken into all the time. WTF, off topic much...

I carry into the bank all the time.

you do know that you can carry in a bank unless its posted right? unless your state has a state specific law.
