I can understand the metal corrosion but I can't understand how the plastic casing on OP's FPDM cracked so badly. That thing would probably have failed during the next rain storm. There was no moisture protection available. Talk about preventive maintenance.

It was the corrosion that grew between the frame and the metal case that forced the plastic to break. Im surprised that it still functioned honestly, it was full of crud and Im sure water had been in it.

Mine failed today and new one installed at the ford dealer $250 .... Also while it was there I had them change the spark plugs and #8 cylinder broke so I'm looking at $450 with tax for the plugs + 250 for the mudule... Talk about expensive Friday!

I can't comment on the spark plugs, but $250 for the fuel pump driver module is a rip. My local Ford dealer wants $260 for the part by itself. I've ordered one off the Internet for $100 shipped. Installation will take 5 minutes. With the $160 I have saved I can put elsewhere in the truck.

Default fuel pump driver module

Past three days my truck began to start funny. It would turn over a little longer before it would start. Now it wont start at all. I poured a little gas down the carb. and it ran for couple of seconds. My question is can you check the module to make sure it is working before buying a new one?

You poured gas down the carb of an 04-08 f150? I'd love to know how you did that!

Holley 850 double Pumper or Carter Thermoquad. Seriously though...sounds like you just tested it...if it runs with gas down the throttle body, but wont run without...ding ding ding! FPDM or fuel pump or clogged fuel filter. To test the FPDM, you would need an o-scope or spectrum analyzer since it sends a pulse-width modulated signal to the fuel pump to regulate pressure.

So there is not constant power back to the module. the reason being i was going to try and bypass the module to see if the pump will run at all
