I paid about $175 for an OEM one thru the dealer

No one had the Dorman in stock and I needed it fixed ASAP.

Yeah, i have replaced two already. The first one was in bad shape with a quater size hole in the back. I live in south east texas and still had this problem. Found the Dorman part at rock auto for 70 bucks. I went a head and got the back up just incase.

Yeah it sucks that most places don't stock this. It's becoming a common issue and most don't fix it until it fails.

I don't feel like I got ripped off, I know I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere. I could have gotten OEM if I wanted to wait but I got this in a matter of two days instead of a week. I would bet this had to do with my intermittent no start issue I've had for the last few months.

I was just looking over on Amazon and the module was $61.20 and that included shipping. Is that the right one? The Dorman part number 590-001 is the same but the OEM part number is a little different.
5L8Z9D370A and the original poster's was 5L3A-9D370-AA. Just want to make sure they are talking apples to apples, heck of a price if it is correct.

Here is the Amazon page:

Not near as bad as mine but that corrosion will continue to grow. If I were you and mine was still in decent shape like that I would take it off, paint it and then make some spacers to space it away from the cross member to keep it from corroding more.
