Default Front Bumper Mod

I have an '04 2WD Screw XLT. It has no fog lights and I really do not want to install aftermarkets. I have looked at the possibility of installing a different bumper that will fit that has the pre-cut holes for fog lamps. But only see the square ones. Not only that, but are these trucks already wired for the lights?

04-05 had rectangular fogs. 06-08 have round.
It may be prewired, even if it is, you'll need at least the lamp housings, a new headlight switch, a couple relays and fuses.

Why don't you want aftermarkets? I've always been disappointed in the performance of factory fogs.

ever thought about getting a set of SuperDuty foglights and installing them in your air dam? This would be the simplest mod. You can in stall factory fogs, however my truck wasnt wired for them. I had to run a connection all the way to my fuse box, and from there it was wired. All I had to do was replace my stock light controller w/ one that had fog ability.

I'm disappointed with the fogs in my 08 screw. There is not a big difference when they are on. My wife has an 08 Expedition and when you turn her fog lights on it seeme to double the light output- big difference. I even feel that the headlights are inadequate. I did install some better Sylvanias which seemed to help but the stock halogen were awful. I would have more light holding a flashlight out the window. To me they seem to be aimed too low. All of the light seems to hit the road 6-7feet in front of you. Makes driving a night a hunting trip also with Donner and Blitzen standing in the middle of the road.

As far as aftermarket goes, I guess I have not really found any that will fit/look right. I have experimented with a few different types, but am not quite sure where or even how they should be mounted. If anybody has any pictures of what they have done (besides behind the grill), that would be greatly appreciated. I have also considered looking for a grill that has light holes already built into it?

Just like that! Thanks for the link. Those are nice, but a little pricey? In the stock bumpers, it appears as thought there is something that should / could mount in there. Any ideas what that may be (aside from the tow hook areas).

where in the stock bumper are you seeing a spot where something could/should be mounted to? pics maybe?

I agree, those grills are pricey. but I think that price is for everything, grill, lights, harness, everything to wire it up and get you on the road. so, price isnt that bad then, but still a lot of dough, even if worth it.
