Yes you can do it. A pretty simple wiring job even for a novice.

Positive. Don't forget the in-line fuse right after the battery connection. Your neg connection at the lights can go right to the nearest chassis ground.

Due to my dad being hospitalized I have been side tracked, might get to it today, but I did stop by a uHaul place yesterday and they rold me I can tap into the positive (Brown wire i think) on the trialer power and that is constant.....issue now is, there is not a relay for that in my fuse panel so I need to get that and try that, I think is it the #5 relay.

Also, where did yoo all ground at?

Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope all is okay. I think they misinformed you on the wiring. On my 06 there ia nothing that is hot all the time. ther one that might be considered hot would be the one that would charge the battery (see diagram in link) anything else you would have to have the lights on or in reverse.

you can use the ground, but I think you need to go to the fuse panel or battery for power.

On a sperate questions: I was just curious where people were grounding the ground is all
