Default Bed Lighting

Here is a pic on my truck, I want to put some lighting in the bed so I can see in there when it is dark. I would prefer not to wire anything, but if there is an easy way to do that I am cool with it. I was thinking of doing like some sticky bettery operated LED's and sticking them to the underside of the cover.......what do you/ suggest?

something like this?:

We put some push on/off lights in at my grandmother's house a few years ago and they put off a decent amount of light in a small dark area.

Keep in mind you will probably have to replace these cheapo tap lights a couple times each winter as they will be freezing/thawing everyday. Add up the cost and you may be better off just getting something for 60-80 bucks that's hardwired. There are a few kits out there that look a lot better, give more light, not use batteries, and will be more convenient over the long run, after you install it of course.

typical batteries dont last long in freezing temperatures... you would probably replace them a couple times throughout the winter even if you dont use them

I would take it to a rv or hitch shop and get them to wire something up with a switch near the bed. Thats what we did for a sled deck. It works great for seeing at night

Please let us know how they work out. I'm looking at doing this as well.
