Awesome. You'll have to keep me updated. A friend of mine mentioned she had a friend that worked there and I put it together that you guys are in Stl. Pretty awesome.

Tomorrow, I will be getting another couple pairs of them, and I will take pictures of them compared to what people already were blown away by - I think they will be even brighter in the reverse lights than what I have there now.

So, if you don't mind waiting another day, I'll have these in the reverse lights, and will be able to take pics to show the difference. Either ones that I've put in the cargo lights are worlds better than the factory, and for this generation of truck, the same base works for either.

Stay tuned!
Has tomorrow come yet? I would love to get the lighting issues resolved with this rig, one thing is for sure. It's like being blind with the stock lights, so they must go to help prevent dings and dents and other bad things. Thanks

Just to recap here. OEM hid headlights are completely different than halogen, and as a result you can't just drop a led kit in them. They use a D3S bulb, and the only logical upgrade currently on the market is a OSRAM cbi. If somebody took their projectors out and replaced them with better ones say evoxr's or Fxr's that require d2s bulbs and ballasts you could open up some other possibilities. But I'm not tearing apart my headlights, and I'm impressed with my CBI's.

I agree, so what about these ^? The sales rep over at Retro Fit Source says they are the same as the OSRAM but much much cheaper, can that really be or are they all wrong?

so you are saying the D3S: MORIMOTO XB HID are a dead on match ?

Yeah if you have your OEM D3S bulb, a Osram CBI D3S, and a Morimoto XB D3S, they are all the same shape and size since they are all D3S. That's how you size bulb replacements basically

ok thank you

You're welcome!

Yeah they've been around for about 10 years as well I believe http://www.morimotohid.com/ They are prob the best aftermarket bulbs we've seen

But yeah some people prefer one name to another just like any products.

Osram and Philips are fantastic, but being OEM you are paying mostly for the name

Dang. For $35 each I might be willing to give those a shot!

Yeah I have no idea, that is why I'm using this forum, to learn and perhaps just maybe help others.

KELVIN RATING : 2 X D3S: XB 6500K $70.00

Seems fair, vs $200 a set, but again, what do I really know, why is the other brand more than twice the price for headlight bulbs?

Again I'm only looking to upgrade the output and coverage of what I already have in the stock OEM HID housing.

Morimoto always struck me a smaller company that doesn't have much presence in the OEM market. That being said, I've always heard great things about their quality. When a company gets big and they have a widely known name, often times their products become overpriced because people will pay for that name. Just my thoughts on why they might cost more.

The Osram's look like excellent bulbs, but I don't think I'd be willing to pay that much money for a slightly nicer looking bulb than stock. It's still a D3S in the stock housing with the stock projector, so how much better could it really be?

Sorry for the delay in replying, it's been busy around here lately. The bulbs came in a couple days ago, and I only got around to putting one in just this morning, waiting for the Sun to set this evening so I can compare side-by-side and take pictures.

The bulbs certainly take up more space in the housings, but that's about all I can report thus far. Stay tuned!

You're referring to these, correct?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGK6QDW...I2E0AU3YWSAYW3

I've got a pair sitting in my Amazon cart, ready to pull the trigger at any moment! You guys have caused me to waste so much money on these reverse light bulbs... it's sort of addictive and the price of entry is pretty low!

When you say the bulbs take up more space in the housing, they still don't touch the bezel or lens do they?
