Default Thunk upon stop and acceleration.

I have a '11 F-150. As I'm coming to a stop there is a thunk from the back of the truck. Same thunk when I first hit the gas from a stop. It never happens at any other time, and I have no other issues with the truck. Has never been involved in an accident, etc. had a local mechanic look at it and he said everything in the rear looks great, so he wasn't sure what the issue could be.
I didn't know if this was a common issue with this year, and didn't see anything directly related when I googled the problem. Any tips or advice would certainly be appreciated. Thanks folks.

Your spare may be loose? I had the same issue, drove me nuts. Laughed at myself for not checking it first!

A "nip" bottle with a note that says, "Lets see how long it takes you to find this." inserted in the rocker panel at the factory is always a good place to start looking. The last Hurrah from a Ford retiree. LOL

I'm here to help, Salazin! Have you addressed this with your local dealership? I suggest getting this diagnosed, as it's the best first step toward reaching a resolution. If you haven't already, use this tool to locate a dealer nearby and schedule an upcoming appointment.

Please let me know how it goes, and fill me in with your current mileage as well.

Brittany

I think I have exact same problem. Have 2011 as well. Really noticed it the last 6 months or so. Feels like bed or something is loose. Anybody have the number to tsb?

I don't recall what the number is but any dealership should be able to pull it up very easily. Mine has been done twice already and going Monday to get it done again. Oh I only have 25K miles!

HEY FORD, FIND A FIX, STOP WITH THE BANDAGES!
