Hi guys. Looking to replace my stock tail lights with Recon LED's. I am completely torn between smoked black or smoked red lenses. I have a Pale Adobe 2011 F150. What are your thoughts? I don't want a huge change, but just not sure if I want the red smoked lens (if it will look less of a transition) or go with the black smoke, which is a clear lens, smoked. Some pics to show you. The black truck and black with red truck have the red smoked lens. The rear of the other two (black with silver tailgate and white with silver tailgate) have the clear smoked/black lens. Also a side on pic of my pale adobe. I just can't decide what will look best with my truck. Any help and opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

 

If youre gonna do it, I'd go with the black smoked, dont think red will look right. Personally I wouldnt spend money on those tails. They look cheap to me, but thats just my opinion. I had an FX4 so I already had nice taillights

 

I like the smoked black.

 

I think the smoked red look ok. Really think regular black trimmed fx4 tails would look best.

 

I think the black FX4s would look best. But you asked between the Recons, so I vote smoked black. Post pictures once you pull the trigger!

 

Thanks for your opinions guys....other members, please chime in and let me know your thoughts...still trying to weigh one way or another. I do like the OEM FX4 tails, but they are not LED. I really want LED's in this mod and think that Recon's look pretty good, over Spyder's and Anzo's. Let me know what you think.

 

Another vote for smoked stock but prefer the FX4s. Straying away from the stock look with the Recon's, Anzo's, etc looks kind of teen-ish to me. Not saying that to step on toes, that's just my thoughts because kids around here are the only ones I see going to that style... Then again I do live in pretty small town but to each his own. GL

I vote for the smoked red. It looks closer to the stock look but still gets you the LEDs

 

I got a cheap pair of LED tails on eBay and love them. The FX4 only look good if you paint the edges like some do. That was my second choice, but I am happy with mine. Stupid easy to install.

 

If you're interested, I have a pair of 2 month old smoked red Recon tails on my FX4 that I'm wanting to sell. Nothing wrong with them and still good as new. I've decided to go back to stock tail lights (maybe I'm getting old). They're $330 new. Since mine are "technically" used, I'd let them go for 20% off that price. $270 shipped.
