Default Sync, 4.2", questions

I just picked up my truck yesterday. We had issues getting my iphone to sync with it. We got that set up.

I'm having some issues.

Whit an ipod plugged into the USB port, the sound is kinda jerky, sounds fine on headphones. What causes this?

If (with voice commands) go to phone then call home (home is one of my contacts), I get a reply that home does not exist. Then I get a reply "call dot on other?" What is DOT?

Check out this post for some of the Iphone and Ipod discussions. It is mainly about the Iphone on the 2011 models, but there was mention of the "dot" problem. There is a reply there about how to fix that problem.

Posts 27 and 32 talk about the "dot" problem.

Hi, F-250,LD -

I'd like to look into your concerns further. Please send me a private message with your VIN and the type of iPod you're using.

Talk to you soon.

I have read thru that thread. I have cleaned up my contacts, reset my phone, did a master reset of sync and still no joy.

So I deleted everything, reset to factory defults and did a master reset. The phone/phonebook will call up who I want now. The "dot" issue is gone.

When I transfered contacts from an older phone to my iphone, a lot of contacts had a ; in the front of their names. Apparently emojis, the ; in my case, causes the "dot" issue.

Today I put my music on a USB flash drive and plugged it in. That works gread. It even displays the album info. One nice thing about this is that the music will come on instantly after the truck is started (if that is what you were listening to last) just like the radio ir a CD.

Having your music on a thumb drive is a great alternative, F-250,LD.

I'm happy to hear you found this.
