Hey Gang;
Looking at installing a remote start for my rig...2103 STX. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I figure by 2103 trucks will be obsolete in favor of molecular transporters.

If you mean 2013 you already have remote start, just need to enable it, get some keys with the 4th button and an antenna for improved range.

See this thread https://www.f150forum.com/f38/forsca...ations-349018/ for information on how.

Well, if the 2013 has it, them my 2014 should have it too, right? But, reading 249 pages just isn't in the cards right now. Is there a cliff notes version?

wow...glad I didn't go all crazy spending money buying it and having it installed...thanks for the heads up!

so as I understand from reading the posts, watching youtube and your reply , I'll have to proceed as follows:

1. get the antenna, plug it in to the module by the glove box and mount it, probably in the headliner above the rear view mirror
https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts...-15k602-a.html

2. get the 4 button keys and program them to the truck
Amazon Amazon

3. get the forscan program and enable remote start

4. from what I'm seeing too, if I don't have both of the original 3 button keys, I'll have to get a locksmith or dealership program the 4 button replacements?!?!...sure hope that's NOT the case huh...

...thanks.

You can use Forscan to program the new keys, no dealer required. Just get them cut to fit the lock cylinders.

The more I'm reading around, and judging by a picture of my truck, I have DTRL's, but they're not enables and that too can be done with the Forscan right?

When I was looking at this, Fairway Ford had the best prices I could find. They even offer a "kit" that includes the antenna and 1 RS key for $125. They also had a 2 key kit that was another $75-$80.

FYI, you don't have to have the antenna for RS to work. You really just need a key and to enable it with Forscan. This is what I did, and the range sucks. I will be adding the antenna, just haven't gotten around to it.
