Not 100% sure what you are trying to say (I think that you paid a dealer to have a remote start professionally installed?)...Anyway a smart phone won't help you with Forscan. You need a Windows based PC (or tablet) to do any of the programming.

Nice truck.
I went to BestBuy and got a smart remote starter for $325.00 about three years ago when I purchased my wife a 2013 Infinity FX37, I just wanted her to get in a already wormed car in those freezing winter days..yes..she is always could
BestBuy hooked me up with everything, even helped me to get the app in our cellphones and tested its performance by asking my wife to start the her car from The Nethelands while she was in business trip in Amsterdam, the car was at home in our garage in Columbus Oh, it took about 7 seconds to start after she hit the botton. Pretty cool thing to have and very affortable.
The system also enabled the two key fobs: push the lock bottom three times and there you go.. but you will probably preffer to use your cellphone.

You might want to get an estimate at bestbuy.. good luck..

The problem with most aftermarket kits is that they require a programmed key to be mounted near the ignition lock which removes the security features of the RFID keys. If the ignition is punched by a thief, they can drive your vehicle away.

On the related subject, I have a 2014 Tremor with remote start. The range is horrible. I can lock/unlock the truck from a good distance, but it won't remote start more than 50-100 feet away. Will this range extender antenna work to get me more range, or is this something that is already included with the factory installed remote starts? I have the one built into the key, and not the additional fob fwiw.

If you already have the oem r/s then see this thread to extend the range, very affordable and works great!!!

Allrighty gang...I have my supplies...antenna, extender wire, 2 keys that still need to be cut and the Forscan download. I'm getting conflicting/confusing information with regards to the keys. Specifically...the need to have BOTH of the original keys in order to reprogram the new ones. I only have one key. Bottom line questions... 1. do I need to have BOTH keys in order to reprogram the new ones or 2. will I in fact be required to purchase keys from the dealership/locksmith and have them programmed by them as well? Thanks.

With only 1 key you will have to erase all keys using Forscan then program 2 new ones (your key and another). Once you have two keys programmed via Forscan you can then use just those 2 keys to program more should you decide to.

installed the antenna and extension wire then went to Hone Depot and Lowe's...no luck...looks like getting the keys cut is going to be the challenge...
