Rear view/backup camera anytime mod?
You will need two automotive four pole relays. Autozone sells these. 30is 12v in 87 is 12v out. I am currently unable to draw a picture to upload right now.
You could get away with a spdt switch then, find a constant power supply when the truck is on, I recommend the radio delay fuse, that way when the radio goes off with the truck it does too.
You would wire this to the center pole of the switch. Run one negative to the 86 pole on your front camera relay, and the other negative to the 86 pole on you rear camera relay. The 85 pole will get grounded to the frame ) this completes that circuit to activate the relay).
You will have to find you existing reverse power wire for your back camera and hook it to the 86 pole for the rear relay as well ( this should not send 24v through the relay, but to make sure run both hot wires to a meter, make sure reverse lights are on and that the other wire is hot. The meter should read 12v still.) since you are using relays 3amp fuse will work on that one constant power wire and 14ga wire will work for this part.
Now you would run 12v wires to the 30 poles on each relay. I recommend 12ga (22 amp rating, but double check your amps the camera draws) run a 20amp fuse on these 2 wires( you always want your fuses to be the lowest rated components) from the 87 poles on the relays you will power each camera. Then ground each camera.
Now you would run the signal wire for your cameras to the screen. I do not know how the screens work with two images sent to them or if you want two screens.
Positions
Top = rear or front
Center = stock reverse on in reverse.
Bottom = opposite of top.
Hope it makes sense and I will try to get a picture made, but I cannot upload anything right now.

cool mod. i tried to get mine to work but no luck yet. i am trying to run a second video source from the back of my camper and switch the camper video on at the same time that i force the display to come on using a DPDT switch. my reverse trigger is on pin 9 - I have a 2011. i couldn't get the dispay to come on unless i was in reverse.
