If this is the one your are referring to

It looks like a hollowed out recess in the back of the mudflap to clear the running board in the stored position.

Also, I would prefer the top of the mudflap to be more "faired in" to the front wheel well. While functional, this design juts out 2 inches from the fender and just doesn't look right to my eye. At least put a decent 1 inch radius on the top of the flap extension.

It also looks like 1/4 of the tire tread (inside) is still exposed to the running board. That means lots of opportunity for mud, gravel, horse apples, etc. to get flung up on your stored running boards. Yuck.

Got these from Autozone. Just put the backs on to see if they fit good. I am buying the fronts to match. You do have to drill for these but the fit nice and flush.

Sorry about the bad photos. Had to lighten them up.

Now that's the way mudflaps should look IMHO. I'm going to stop by Autozone on the way home from work this evening and check them out.

Thanks for posting the photos Schambo. Good job on the mudflaps.

I have the weathertechs on my 2010 Lariat but I can't make this site host a picture, they must be too large.
Anyway, I think the weathertechs look great, they follow the contour of the fender flares and l'm happy with them.

Just put my Weathertechs on today and must say they look awesome! Worth it IMO to help protect the paint and keep the slush off the running boards...glad I did it!

Any suggestions? I need mudflaps.
Doesn't look like your running boards extend past the backside edge of the front fender flare. My WeatherTechs don't go anywhere near that far back. I guess they would know, though. *shrug*

*DISCLAIMER* it hasn't stopped snowing since I bought my truck on Black Friday, so yeah, I know it's dirty!

Good to know. I ordered a Platinum and will need flaps on it too. Hope you figure this out soon!

Glad everyone got the price. I'll have to stop in to their shop to see if they're happy with me or mad at me for all of these F150 owners calling and asking for that price.
