Default Mud flaps

Anyone seen weather techs mud flaps for the 09 F 150s they look good. But they say they wont work on trucks with running boards in the front, just seeing if anyone has put them on and had any clearance problems with it actully hitting the running boards. Thanks

I don't have the WeatherTech mud flaps, but I think they are referring to molded running boards and not the nerf bars. I have the stainless cab steps on my FX4 and they weren't any problem with my Husky Mud Guards. Here are links to a few pics of my front mud flaps so you can see how they fit, clear, etc....

Those are Husky Mud Guards front and rear. The best price I found on them was actually through Amazon.com - $54.75 total for front and rear sets. These do require some drilling - if I remember right it was three or four holes for each mud flap.

I don't think the Weather Tech mud flaps require any hole drilling. To be honest if I had found the Weather Techs before I installed the Husky Mud Guards I probably would have gone with the Weather Tech flaps despite the cost in order to avoid the drilling aspect.

I put the HUSKY ones on my SCREW with factory running boards. They fit very well and they look good. I was able to put them on without having to remove any tires. Access to the front ones by turning the wheels one way or the other. For the rear wheels I just jacked up on the frame and was able to get it high enough for clearance to drill and screw them in.

The hardest part, only because I took a little time to get it right, was putting on the clear paint shield that you apply under the flaps BEFORE mounting them.

I think HUSKY Flaps might be the only ones that have this paint protection film included.

Just a heads up: If you have the factory flares like I do, make sure when you drill the holes that you are far enough in toward the body that you hit steel and not just drill into the flare with nothing behind it.

Good luck.
