Ok. So dealers should be sending out paperwork soon.

Update: printed out Ford’s customer satisfaction recall and headed to the dealer. Without looking at the truck, said I need a new torque converter. Needless to say, I left.

Will be going to another dealer tomorrow.

Looks like for the recall they just want to reflash the PCM - not replace the lead frame...

Check to see if you got the new recall today:

Wow, thanks. So the main issue with the lead frame will still be there but this recall will make it so it won’t downshift into 1st?

it’s a typo, newscaster said 2011 not 2001.

Thanks, this is disturbing that they know they break and their only fix is to flash the computer to prevent a wreck instead of actually fixing the issue. Best I remember they are on revision "D" for the lead frame meaning they have tried 3 times to fix the issue. Finally after the 4th time they've got it figured out but leave their customers with the bill. 2 out of the 3 F150s in my group of friends/family have had this issue and I'm doing mine this spring as preventative maintenance so I'm not left on the side of the road. I'm even a Ford fanboy and I'm disappointed in this.
