My 2012 is at the dealer right now for the lead frame. Same symptoms as everyone else.

They called me and stated my VIN is not included in the extended 150k warranty. My truck only has 55k miles on it. They didn't seem to care that this is a very common problem and the certainly didn't care what I thought.

So, same problem as everyone else and mine is not covered. I have bought several new Ford's from this dealer but thinking I don't like Ford much right now.

Grrrr

if you have a late build 2012 that is true that you dont have the extended coverage. It is ONLY 2011-early-mid build 2012

Guys, you can order all parts off of amazon (lead frame, foam insert, new filter and gasket) for $127 and either replace it yourself, or have someone else do it. Ford told me to go pound sand so I’m ordering the parts and having a shop replace it.

Sorry, it was $137 USD total. Still not bad considering just the lead frame from the dealer here is $300.

I filed a complaint with Ford. My complaint was that my truck obviously has the same problem. They are contacting the service manager at my dealer. If the service manager confirms that the leadframe failure was not due to normal wear and tear, Ford is going to pay for the replacement. As stated before, the truck has less than 55k miles on it. I don't think they can say this is normal. I will let you know how it turns out.
