My dealer hasn’t contacted me. I’ve been lucky so far, no symptoms of this. I am in Canada too. Are you visiting or what? I have a feeling you’re in the other side of the country since there’s not a ton of snow/ice around me right now.

I have a question, if or when I take my truck in they’re gonna reflash it and I’ll loose my Forscan settings wont i?

It's possible, back up your current settings just in case.

I mean it’s not a huge deal, I only have Bambi and DRL relocated and was thinking adding a change or two.

OP disregard the visiting Canada comment. I got you and blue 5.0 mixed up.

Is the dye automatically in all a/c refrigerants? Or do they put some in to pin point a leak? I wonder if it’s from before since the previous owner had the a/c system serviced 10,000 miles ago.

Do you have any pictures or links of how to gain access to whatever is leaking in my picture? Been trying to search for an hour now and can’t find anything.

Thanks in advance man.

Just looking up this issue, can the lead frame be changed by someone with tools and the trans in the truck or is better to have the dealer do the work? Regardless of TSB I mean. I guess I’m asking what the extent of changing one is.

They put it in at the factory. Usually when a condenser leaks the entire unit has to be replaced. Find a reputable a/c repair shop to give it a closer look.

There are some good videos on YouTube of changing it, and there is Ford documentation floating around on the steps to change it, didn't look to hard to me. The only tool they used I didn't have was a torque wrench for in/lbs to re-bolt the lead frame to the valve body, I only have a 1/2 inch one with ft/lbs that I use for lug nuts.

I had my lead frame replaced on my 2013 3.5 with 88k last week. Not under the recall or TSB but was having the issue. I still have a power-train warranty until 100k since my truck was CPO, so it was covered under that. The tech couldn't replicate the issue for 3 days (even though I had a video of it), so finally I drove along with him with his IDS plugged in and it did it after putting it in Tow/Haul mode, 6 to 1 downshift and the OSS (part of the leadframe) reading 0. Other times the OSS would read erratic numbers causing a 6 to 3 downshift, etc. They replaced the lead frame, and I was going to pay for a new filter while they had the transmission apart, but the tech said Ford would cover that too. So $106 later ($100 warranty deductible + tax) it's been running great.

I looked into replacing it myself if the tech couldn't duplicate/warranty wouldn't cover it, and it looks to be a $100 part, plus new transmission fluid, and a couple of hours for a novice.

Also - there is an open investigation by the NHTSA for Ford to extend the recall to 2013 trucks since they have received so many complaints from 2013 trucks too. I added mine to the list so they can have more examples for their investigation if anything ever does come of it. Might help those who had to pay out of pocket for the fix.
