Default Flow through console on `12 XLT with shifter on column

I was browsing ebay and found several flow through consoles and got to thinking if it would be possible to convert my truck from the jump seat console to a flow through console. I know it would requre a bit of work. Is it possible to do this conversion? I assuming it would require changing the steering column and installing the nessary hardware for the floor shifter.

What are ya`lls thoughts?

I've wondered the same thing, but for going the opposite way with my FX4. Biggest hurdle for either of us would be changing the shifter, after that comes finding a black leather center seat to match my factory seats.

Yeah I imagine that would be the absolute hardest part of the conversion.

It would still be nice to attempt and accomplish.

I love my column shifter and jump seat. I just wish there was more storage, sucks they just put a little cubby in there and a useless tray area.

I did it to my old truck. the lower part of the dash is different on xlt vs fx and above. so you will have a gap where the lower panel meets the dash.

In addition to liinxcore above, mamonti (https://www.f150forum.com/f38/dont-t...onsole-148770/) has done it on his 2010, and Wanna_Ride (https://www.f150forum.com/f38/raptor...r-crew-224875/) did it on his 2011, both were just the console, no shifter swap. Hodown did the console swap, and asked lots of questions about swapping in the floor shifter (https://www.f150forum.com/f38/flow-t...e-help-235026/) but it doesn't look like he ever actually did it. Found one guy who did the actual shifter swap (https://www.f150forum.com/f38/anothe...roject-247957/), lots of work, but it IS doable.
The swap cost for just the console is based on where you get everything and how much it costs you. My new take-off Raptor console cost me $162 off eBay, and buying all the trim new is just under $280 shipped from Tasca. So less than $450 for the entire swap with new trim. Granted, I had no interest in making the vents work, the factory 110V functional, or swapping in the shifter. Expect lots more to make all that happen. But for my purposes, absolutely worth it to keep my vinyl floors and gain the storage and nice places for my OTRATTW switches.
