Here are some pictures of the damage. Notice that fluid coming from the slider mechanism. This is also on other people's photo's as well.

Can you tell us what the "new" part number is?

(I'm driving a 2014 FX4 w/ the sliding rear glass + defrost ... right now I am avoiding using it, but would love to know if my rear glass unit is the "new and improved" unit that's ok to use, or the older one that's going to explode on me if I turn it on)

So I just joined here as I bought a 13 Lariat yesterday. Crazy reading this and now worried. Luckily my best friend is a master tech at a local Ford dealer that is a fleet servicer for trucks. I have an inquiry into him. Expecting since he didn't mention when running diagnostics last night to verify my purchase that it won't be an issue.

This happened to my 2010 Platinum about a year ago. I claimed it on my Auto insurance and they replaced the entire back window for $100. Didn't raise my insurance either. If this is a known issue and happens again, I will definitely be notifying Ford of this.

The part # I got is DL3Z-15422B30-F.

I pulled fuse #32 from the engine bay fuse box so I still have heated mirrors but the rear defrost doesn't come on.

F*k Ford.

Where exactly is this part number located? I can only find this marking on my rear window. It's the same marking on all three pieces of glass.

Obviously, I'm blind and/or completely overlooking the area that has the actual part number ...

ok, so i just went and checked again ... the only other thing I can find on MY truck's rear window is something that looks like it's the part number, but I really can't read it very well. It's on the passenger side, on the casing of the window, and mostly hidden by the plastic wall cover between the rear door and the back window. But, I can say with certainty that it's none of the numbers listed above.
