Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Does anyone know where I can download 4.6 from? Or even 4.4? My truck is running 4.1 and Ford's website is glitchy and won't let me download.

Updated to 4.6 and sync still won't default to bluetooth audio. Weird how the exact same truck without navigation will default to it.

FYI:

I can't speak for others, but I recently upgraded my phone to a Galaxy S10e after years of owning an iPhone.

It now flawlessly syncs to BT as the default, *AND* now I can use the built-in mic on the truck or the phone to make voice requests.

How are you liking the switch to Samsung? Also which firmware are you on?

Honestly, having been on iPhone since the 4, I thought it'd be a huge problem to switch...but it hasn't been. The vast amount of configurability is nice, but I'm getting better reception and a far better screen for $250. (I traded my 8 in, and got $550 off.)

I'm on the March update, I think - ends in ASBA.

Obviously not him but I switched from always having iPhones and I went from an iPhone 6 that was slowing down to the Google Pixel 2 XL and am happy I did. I didn't want to pay $800 for basically the exact same I for the 8 or 10. The pixel is great and was a nice change of scenery since iPhone software ultimately looks the same no matter which phone you have.

Forgot to ask - is your truck defaulting to Bluetooth audio with your new phone? Or is just connecting automatically upon start up? I have an iPhone X, and haven’t had any issues connecting. It’s the damn defaulting to line in that is annoying.

Default the 30k fix

well, I sold my 2013 and bought a 2019 rcsb this week. Its obvious Ford fixed the complaint. I'll shut the new one off, upon restarting it's still on bluetooth. the 30k fix

I rented a lowest line Toyota Yaris to drive to Tulsa (1100 miles to a Ford event. ..but I'm looking for different options for a new daily driver) this past weekend....the blue tooth was automatic and easy! Seamless. So i called Fomoco to see what I was doing wrong. Nothing. EVERY TIME WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE SETTING. What a crock!!!!!!

Yes to both. It defaults to BT audio and connects automatically to the phone on start up.

I never had issues connecting to BT with my iPhones, but ever since 4.6 (I think), it wouldn't allow me to utilize Siri with either the truck's mic *OR* the one built into my phone. I always blamed it on the 4.6 update, but my S10e works just ducky with it, so it's not as simple as blaming it on Ford. LOL

Congrats, I'm tired of the bluetooth issues I've been having lately on our '12. I had to disconnect the battery and reconnect it to get rid of the "Do you want to connect to bluetooth?" message that would never connect. We have a permanent smear on the screen from switching to source to bluetooth, ugh. We just got out of truck payments earlier this year so we're not quite ready to jump to a new one anytime soon. The struggle is real.
