Default A/C Fan Problem or something else?

I have a 2013 F150 XLT 2WD Supercrew. It has a 5.0 V8 engine with 89,000 miles on it. I have only had my truck for about a month, but I love it.

One thing that I have noticed it that when cranked, my truck seems to have a loud idle with a little shake. I originally thought that it was just the part of the truck, because I have never had a truck before, so I just figured it was part of owning a truck. The truck runs smoothly, idling at 600-700 rpm when started, with no lights/signs of something being wrong.

After doing some research, I think it may have something to do with the A/C fan, but I am not sure (i'm not an expert when it comes to cars). I live in South Carolina and the weather has been fairly warm here recently, so I have had my A/C on a lot (plus I am not one to really ride with my windows down anyway). My air seems to be running well (I haven't noticed any problems), but my heat does take a long time to come on (like 5-10 minutes). I haven't had to use heat much, except for a couple times in the morning, but with it not being extremely cold outside, I wouldn't think it would take so long for that to come on, but it may just be part of the truck (came from a small car where the heat started working real quick, so maybe I just am used to that).

Like I originally said I wasn't sure if it was part of owning a truck, but I could tell last night that it was extremely loud. I stopped by a gas station and a fast food restaurant and it was extremely loud. I almost had to turn it off at the fast food restaurant because it was so loud. So should I get this checked out and what could be the problem with it? Thanks in advance.

The fan was loud? Was the AC on?

If turning off the A/C makes it quieter, then that's the reason. On my 2011 5.0 there are two fans. They run connected in series ( + FAN FAN - ) so both fans operate on 6V for 'LO' and in parallel ( + FAN - ) so both operate on 12V for high. The PCM controls which speed.
The fans probably do not run at all at highway speeds but when you slow down or stop (drive thru) then they must run to operate your A/C and cool the engine.

I will check when I leave work today as to whether it does it when it the A/C is off. If it also does it when it is off, is there anything else to look into or is it just the way that it is with the truck?

Since it is relays, you could have a stuck relay or the driver in the PCM could have failed.
When you start the truck cold, listen for the fans. Then turn on the A/C and listen again. My fans more or less cycle with the A/C based on A/C settings and outside temperature.

I will listen to both of those. And I will update it here after I do that.

My 13 had a bad relay and fan assembly, it ran high speed all of the time. If you turn off the ac and after a reasonable amount of time the fans don't reduce to low or turn off, then you have an issue.

There is a bigger post on this I will see if I can find.

Thank you. I was trying to find other posts on exactly this, but I have been having trouble finding one that was similar to this
