Default Adding Automatic Headlamps?

I have used the search, but all I found were unanswered questions on 2010-2011 trucks. Does anyone know for certain if it is possible to add automatic headlamps to a 2012?

Thanks.

I was thinking of doing this with an older vehicle that didn't have auto headlights either. My plan was to use a photocell from RadioShack and link it to a relay that powers the headlights on. I think it would work in your case if there isn't an alternative.

If I can't do it as a plug & play or program with Ford parts, I will live without it.

I remember a guy on here with a 2011 stx starting a thread on this a while back. He ended up being able to do it. I don't remember what he did exactly, but he was able to figure it out. Keep searching. It's on here somewhere.

I did it. All I bought was a new switch and sensor. Just plugged'em in and boom! Auto headlights!! The plug on the dash where the sensor goes, had the wirng harness attached to it. I have a 2010 though.

Part #'s sensor 7L1Z-13A018-A. switch 9L3Z-11654-CA

Been hearing people with 2011+ having a harder time doing this though. We had a 2011 at my shop about 5 months ago, I was curious and checked that plastic plug on the dash. It did NOT have the wiring harness. So just check before you buy.

I don't get it. 2012's don't have auto lights? My 2010 does.

Yes, as I mentioned before, 2011+ models may just NOT have the wiring for this. I have done numerous add ons to my truck that it did not previously have. Such as power, heated side mirrors with turn signals, auto headlights, and ext temp gauge. The only thing that doesn't work is the auto darken side mirror...I believe the wiing is just not there for it. But I haven't officially investigated it yet.

What I would do is, pry up the plug on your dash that's right next to the "tray." If there is a wiring plug there...then there's a good chance it will work.
